Design started for me with the elaborate forts that I would build as a child, then continued as I worked in the theater in my teens constructing and sometimes designing sets and props and my twenties were spent carrying out start to finish design/build remodel projects.

Being that I was the builder on all of my early design projects means that I have an ingrained sense for what the practical implications are of every little thing I imagine during theĀ dreaming portion a design project. I find this experience to be invaluable in designing thingsĀ that make sense to build.

Currently my professional position is Lead Designer with Collective Construction. I also have a design and construction blog called The Portland Tradesmen
